Hope, will & skills - #EmpoweringGirls project for Ukrainian war refugees

What do you need, when your whole life is shattered into pieces? When your friends and family are being attacked, raped, and killed by an aggressor? When your homes and businesses are destroyed by bombing?

„Hope, will, and skills“ – this is the name of an international project, aimed at the Rotary Global grant by already 13 Rotary and Rotaract clubs from different countries in partnership with Junior Achievement.

This is also the quote of Ukrainian teachers, war refugees, told at the project launch event in April 2022. Ekaterina Strelchenko was sharing her story of finding a safe place in Lithuania and said. „Before coming here we‘ve got nothing – no hope, no life, everything was destroyed. Now we have hope, we have a very strong will and we just need new skills, to rebuild our lives and our homeland Ukraine“.

„Hope, will & skills” is a project, aimed to empower girls, war refugees from Ukraine, to obtain new STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) as well as entrepreneurship skills, using a newly built online platform, which enables remote access from anywhere in the world – in a host country or back at home in Ukraine, and provides high-quality training, also in the native Ukrainian language.

This project contributes to the new strategy 2020-2025 of Rotary International by partnering with a highly reputable NGO, improving our ability to achieve greater impact, building brand awareness, and expanding our reach.

You can contribute by making a donation to the project account, sharing your empowering story for 20-40 minutes online, and other ways. Learn more online and join the effort: https://bit.ly/GG-Hope-Will-Skills-Ukrainian-Girls-EN
